BREITLING Chronomat B01 42 - Black

The Chronomat B01 is inspired by nearly all generations of Breitling Chronomat watches, however it has ended up being something entirely new altogether. 

Breitling relaunched the Chronomat in 2020 with Rouleaux style bracelet and it is quite honestly a contemporary luxury product in its own right. Each part being individually machined and polished, and generally much more sturdy than the old Rouleaux bracelets which would bend and stretch over time. This bracelet stands out on the Chronomat B01 42 and makes it even more outstanding and to those concerned about the bracelet pinching, the Rouleaux links do not angle in a way that could create pinch points; therefore, the issue is non-existent!

The case on this watch is 42mm-wide and about 15mm-thick. It wears large but not too large, in our opinion. The polished steel and the wide lugs combined with the dramatic tapering of the aforementioned Rouleaux bracelet give it a grand presence. As always for Breitling, the steel case is well-made with excellent finishing, Breitling cases always have crisp details high quality polishes and surface treatments and this one does not disappoint.

The new rotating bezel design is clearly inspired by the original Chronomat watches, but this is more refined, likewise with the hands on the dial.  The chronograph dials of the are very refined and elegant, and stand out on the black dial. altogether this is a very handsome and impressive watch. 

Breitling’s in-house-made caliber B01 automatic chronograph is a great performer and has a stable 4Hz frequency movement with an impressive 70 hours of power reserve and you can see the movement through the sapphire crystal window on the rear of the watch.
